I'm kind of homesick for a country to which I've never been before. No sad goodbyes will there be spoken for time won't matter anymore. Beulah Land, sweet Beulah Land.
Joyce Faye Darden, 68, 133 E. Pine Forest Road, Mount Olive, peacefully succumbed to the Lord's call Wednesday afternoon at her residence.
She was born to the late George and Lillie Ingram Faison Wednesday, March 8, 1950, in Duplin County.
The celebration of life will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church. Her mortal remains will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Park.
Precious memories are held dear by her children, Travis Darden of Calypso and Adonna Wynn of Dudley; her siblings, Robert Faison of Delaware, minister Carol Simmons of Calypso and Bobby Carlton of Mount Olive; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Haskins Funeral Home, with her loving family present to receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. The family will assemble at residence in preparation for the funeral cortege.
