Mrs. Melodie Joy Oates Vann, 58, Salemburg, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018, at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2018, at the funeral home.
Private services with the family will be held at a later date.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Lewis and Amanda LaRoyce Best Oates.
She is survived by her husband, Donnie Vann of the home; son, Donald Lewis Oates of Mount Olive; daughter, Dawn Vann Kennedy of Faison; sisters, Teresa Burch and husband, Jimmy, of Faison and Donna Oates Warren and husband, Blake, of Newton Grove; grandchildren, Paige Martin and Madison Kennedy; great-grandchild, Greyson Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mount Moriah United Methodist Church for the United Methodist Women, 692 Odom Road, Clinton, N.C., 28328.
Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro St., Roseboro, N.C., 28382.
