Robert Walton Pennington, 88, Goldsboro, passed away Wednesday at Willow Creek Nursing Home.
Robert proudly served in the United States Army, and was the recipient of the Bronze Star for his service to our country.
He retired from civil service at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.
Robert was a member of Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church.
A service to celebrate Robert's life will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with pastor Tim Sharp and the Rev. Barry Williamson officiating.
The family will greet friends following the service at Seymour Funeral Home.
A private interment for the family will be held in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Robert is survived by his sons, Bobby Pennington and wife, JoAnn, of Greenville and Greg Pennington and wife, Joy, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Todd Pennington and wife, Sara, Jared Pennington and wife, Amy, Brandie Houser, Kevin Lundiquist and Kasey Perry and husband, Brad; and great-grandchildren, Ellison Pennington, Leah Houser, Adriana Perry, Adelynn Perry and Annalise Pennington.
He was preceded in death by his brother, George Pennington.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, 752 Stoney Creek Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
