HAYWOOD W. GARDNER

Haywood Wilson "Jack" Gardner, 86, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Born in Roper and raised in Haywood County in the North Carolina mountains, he had lived in places across the country, but in recent years, in the Kinston, Faison and Mount Olive areas.
Jack is survived by his caregiver and friend, Joyce W. Gardner of Calypso, along with her family; several cousins; many friends; and his church family at Faison Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan H. and Smithie Wade Gardner; two brothers; two sisters; and his two wives.
Visitation will be at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive Sunday, Jan. 21, from 2 to 3 p.m, followed by a graveside service at 3:30 p.m. in Pineview Cemetery, Seven Springs. The Rev. Paul Rose will officiate.
