Franklin Edward Pate, 67, Goldsboro, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, at Wayne UNC Health Care.
Franklin was born in Wayne County on Jan. 16, 1950, to the late Elijah Pate Sr. and Ola Mae West Pate. Those of us who knew Franklin weep at our loss, laugh with our remembrances, and reflect deeply on how much he meant to us.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of his daughter, 114 Mossburg Drive, Goldsboro.
Franklin is survived by his daughter, Phyllis Ann Pate Ryan and husband, Andrew, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Scott Pate-Ryan, Ciera Satterfield, Riley Ryan, and Avery Ryan; and a great-grandchild, Amelia Pate-Ryan. He is also survived by a special friend, Mary Davis.
