KRISTOPHER RAY HARRISON

Kristopher Ray Harrison, 44, Garner, passed away Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, serving God and humanity as a flight nurse with the Duke University Health System on the Duke Life Flight Team.
Kris was born Sept. 16, 1972, in Wayne County, grew up in Mount Olive, N.C., and had lived in Garner, Cleveland community, for the last 19 years.
He was a graduate of Southern Wayne High School (1990) and North Carolina State University (1995).
He earned his RN degree from Wake Tech (1997), and was a proud member of the Duke Life Flight Team for several years.
As an avid sportsman and outdoorsman, there wasn't much Kris did not enjoy or did not try. He especially enjoyed Spartan races, mud runs, camping, hunting, all things North Carolina State and activities that included his daughters.
He was a resident of the Adams Point community, where he enjoyed gatherings with friends and neighbors, always having a funny story to tell or a practical joke to pull.
As much as he loved his job and being with friends, he loved his God and his family more. He will be missed by many.
Kris is survived by his wife, Kasey Hobson Harrison; daughters, Abigayle Faith and Lilly Grace all of the home; his father and stepmother, the Rev. Frank R. Harrison and Barbara Lancaster; sister, Amy W. Witherington; nephew, Drew Witherington all of Mount Olive, N.C.; sister-in-law, Jeanne Williams of Pensacola, Fla.; and aunt, Judy Beaman Craft of Walstonburg, N.C.
Also surviving are his father and mother-in-law, Lynn and Gemey Hobson of Surf City, N.C.; brother-in-law, Stacy Hobson and wife, Michelle; nephew, Conner Hobson; niece, Caylee Hobson all of Fuquay-Varina, N.C.; and lifelong friend, Dr. Mark Sasser of Mount Olive, N.C.
He was predeceased by his mother, Vivian Beaman Harrison of Mount Olive, N.C., and his brother, Chris Williams of Pensacola, Fla.
A memorial service to celebrate Kris' life, led by the Rev. Almond Warrick, will be held at Cleveland Community Church (C3 Church), 8246 Cleveland Road, Clayton, N.C., Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, at 11 a.m.
Visitation will follow the service.
An education trust has been established for Kris' girls in lieu of flowers. Contributions may be sent to Southern Bank and Trust Co., 100 N.E. Center St., Mount Olive, N.C., 28365, or gifts may be made to the charity of your choice in Kristopher's memory.
