David Earl "Hawk" Davis, 71, Goldsboro passed away at Wayne Memorial Hospital Monday, Sept. 11, 2017.
He was born Dec. 2, 1945, to the late Clayton Davis and Nancy Marie Eason Davis.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, George Clayton Davis and Harold Ray Davis; sisters, Martha Ann Pritchett and Joyce Marie King; and a baby brother, Robert Davis.
The funeral service will be held in Casey Funeral Home chapel at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017, with the Rev. Terri Graham and the Rev. Brian Talton officiating. The burial will be at a later date in Princeton Cemetery.
Mr. Davis was a former member of Grantham Fire Department and an inactive member of Falling Creek Baptist Church.
He loved his grandchildren and going fishing.
He was a person you could count on. He was always loyal to family and friends.
He is survived by sons, Richard Davis of Grantham and Clayton Davis of Nashville, N.C.; daughters, Dianne Simmons, Angie Thornton and Sharon Gurley all of Grantham; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; baby Biscuit is on the way; and special nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017, at Casey Funeral Home chapel.
