Robert Malcolm Smith, 90, Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017, at Brookdale Pinehurst.
Mr. Smith was born Sept. 23, 1926, in Wayne County, a son of the late Thad and Laura Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Carlton Smith, Waldo Smith and Donald Smith.
Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 66 years, Nora J. "Saints" Smith; children, Dianne Smith Iseman (Jim) and Mickey Smith (Susanna); grandchildren, Rhett Iseman Trull (Jeff), Jim Iseman III and Kathryn Lowe; great-grandchildren, Audrey Trull and Cordelia Trull; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery.
The family will see friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.
