Mary Katherine Bestland, 77, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Willow Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation in Goldsboro.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends afterward.
Mrs. Bestland was born Nov. 27, 1939, in Maryland.
She was a member of Westwood United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Harry Bestland; one son, Harry Bestland of Goldsboro; three daughters, Stacy Seibel and husband, Art, of Maryland, Julia Vincent and husband, Greg, of Ohio and Shirley Morris and husband, David, of West Virginia; two brothers, "Mert" Alley and wife, Peggy, of Maryland and Harold "Sonny" Alley of Maryland; three sisters, Illona Lucas and husband, Buddy, of Pennsylvania, Jackie McKenzie of Maryland and Pam Kistner and husband, Dennis, of Maryland; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Bestland was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Virginia Harris Sanford; one son, Kenneth Charles Boyd; a daughter, Gladys Eisenhower; and one brother, Joseph McKenzie.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 23, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory.
