MAE PARKS BOWEN

June 6, 1926-April 25, 2017

Birdell Mae Parks Bowen, 90, Goldsboro, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at the Brian Center.

Mae was born in Wayne County June 6, 1926, to the late Berry Emmitt Parks and Birdell Herring Parks.

She loved Rosewood First Baptist Church, and was a dedicated and faithful servant.

Mae will be sorely missed here on earth, but we take solace in the fact that she has now rejoined the love of her life, her husband, Earl.

The family will receive friends at Seymour Funeral Home Thursday, April 27, 2017, beginning at 10 a.m., followed by a service to celebrate Mae's life at 11 a.m. in the chapel, with Dr. Mike Collier officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mae is survived by her brother, John G. Parks, and several nieces and nephews, including her nephew, Alfred Parks and his wife, Marlene, and their daughter, Marla, and nieces, Dixie Ellis and husband, Ken, Ruby Gurley and husband, Woody, and Dell Combs.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Aaron Parks, Paul Parks, Claude Parks and Wilbur Parks, and sisters, Celia Gardner, Mary Lankford and Doris Best.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Rosewood First Baptist Church, 562 N.C. 581 South, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
