MABEL DEANS MOZINGO

June 14, 1920-March 26, 2017

Mabel Deans Mozingo, 96, Goldsboro, was called home Sunday, March 26, 2017, to the loving arms of Jesus Christ her Lord.

Mabel was born in Wayne County June 14, 1920, to the late Erastus and Ruth Scott Deans. She was married to the late Henry Fields Mozingo.

Mabel began her teaching career in the Wayne County public schools, and continued to teach for 36 years. She was a dedicated teacher, and she loved and cared deeply for her students.

Her life was filled with humility, kindness and a love for others that she displayed every time she smiled.

She dedicated her life to serving her Lord unselfishly. Mabel was a member of Falling Creek United Methodist Church, where she served with the United Methodist Women for many years.

She was also a member of the North Carolina Retired Teachers Association.

A service to celebrate Mabel's life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2017, at Falling Creek United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Craig Langston officiating.

The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the church, and interment will conclude the service at Wayne Memorial Park.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Deans, and sisters, Virginia Clumper and Alice Jennette.

She is survived by her nephew, Douglas Jennette and wife, Marsha, and her niece, Betsy Mountcastle.

Mabel's family would like to acknowledge the staff of Brookdale, 3HC Community Hospice and her special caregivers over the years, as well as the friends, nurses and physicians who had a profound impact on the quality of Mabel's life in recent years.
