Beatrice Wilson Lamb, 84, Goldsboro, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.

Beatrice was born in Sampson County Nov. 25, 1932, to the late Houston and Olieta McCullen Wilson. She was married to the late Thomas Henry Lamb Jr.

Beatrice was the founder of LIFE Inc. in Goldsboro, a company committed to providing the highest quality care and service to persons with disabilities throughout the state.

She was a self-made entrepreneur, and was at the forefront of community residential services for persons with disabilities in North Carolina.

Beatrice lived a life of dedication to her family and friends and to her community.

She served her community many ways, from her work on the board of trustees at Wayne Community College to her work with the Democratic Women of Wayne County.

She was also a recipient of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine.

Beatrice was an active member of Extension Homemakers.

She loved Providence United Methodist Church, and was a dedicated and faithful servant her entire life.

She had a large extended circle of family and friends, and they were all very special to her, including the Samaritan Sunday school class at Providence Church.

She will be missed, but greatly remembered.

A service to celebrate Beatrice's life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017, in the sanctuary of Providence United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dusty Sprouse officiating. Interment will follow the service at 2 p.m. in Clinton Cemetery of Clinton, N.C.

The family will greet friends Wednesday, March 29, 2017, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.

Beatrice is survived by her daughter, Sharon Raynor and husband, Rhett; daughter-in-law, Connie Lamb; grandchildren, Glenn Lamb and wife, Cynthia, Lee Lamb, Wilson Raynor and wife, Lindsey, and Larkin Raynor; and three great-grandchildren, McKenzie Lamb, Ashton Lamb and Beckett Raynor.

She is also survived by two stepgrandchildren, Tony Atwell and husband, Justin, and Amanda Marvin.

She is survived by her brothers, Doug Wilson and wife, Linda, and Daniel Wilson, and sister, Katie Hanes and husband, Wick.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son, Tommy Lamb, and her grandson, Landon Raynor.

Beatrice's family would like to acknowledge her faithful caregivers, Edmond Best, Carolyn Banks and Myra Meeks, as well as the friends, caregivers, nurses and physicians who had a profound impact on the quality of Beatrice's life in recent years.
