Victor Ed Cox, 70, better known as "Heavy" or "Elotate," Goldsboro, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.
Ed was born in Wayne County Aug. 1, 1946, to the late Nita and Victor Elam Cox.
He will be remembered as an accomplished musician, having been a member of the Warehouse Band.
At his request, services will be held privately for the family.
Friends will be received at the home of Jerry Waddell, 4065 U.S. 13 South, Goldsboro.
Ed is survived by his wife, Lynne Cox; brother-in-law, Jerry Waddell and wife, Sally; three nieces, Kim Powell, Amanda Carter and Theresa Coley, and their families; and his best friend, Don Ham.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jo Waddell.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Cures for the Colors, SMOC, 203 Cox Blvd., Goldsboro, N.C., 27534, or Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
