ROCKY PEARL WALKER

Rocky Pearl Pate Moody Walker, 79, Mount Olive area resident, left her disease strickened body to receive her new heavenly body Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017.

Funeral services are planned for Sunday, Jan. 8, at 2:30 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with visitation to follow. Burial is to be Monday, Jan. 9, at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Friends and family are also being received at the home of her sister, Nell Herring at 529 Tram Road, Mount Olive.

In lieu of flowers, because of the frigid weather, memorials may be made to Brock's Chapel Church, c/o Lynwood Herring, 519 Tram Road, Mount Olive, N.C., 28365; American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, Va., 22202; or Tim's Gift, 108 Northeast Blvd., Clinton, N.C., 28328.

Pearl is survived by her children and their spouses, Rex and Ellen Moody of Clinton, Miles and Rose Moody of Kenly and Becky M. and Yates Ivey, Emery and Lisa Walker and Christy W. and Ricky McCoy all of the Mount Olive area; eight grandchildren, Brittany M. Serafini, Kalyn M. Herring, Blake Bizzell, Courtney Ivey, Benjamin Ivey, Marissa W. Hobbs, Samantha Walker and Rishod McCoy; four great-grandchildren, Arizona Tyndall and Tanner, Bailey and Clark Serafini; two sisters, Nell P. Herring of Mount Olive and Lois P. Kornegay of Warsaw; a brother, David "Bud" Pate of Nampa, Idaho; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Nelson Mills Walker and Marvin Benjamin "Bennie" Moody; her parents, Clarence and Sudie Tucker Pate; sisters, Arlene Pate and Ada Mae P. Potter; and brothers, Willis, Clifton and Paul Pate.

Pearl was a lifelong member of Brock's Chapel Church, and she was retired from Guilford East.
