JAMES "JIM" STUART ROBERTSON

JAMES 'JIM' STUART ROBERTSON

March 9, 1962-July 26, 2016

James "Jim" Stuart Robertson, 54, died Tuesday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Born in Bloomington, Ill., he was the son of Duncan E. and Margaret S. Robertson of Rock Falls, Ill., and was the husband of Tammy Robertson of Pikeville.

A celebration of life will be held Monday, Aug. 1, 2016, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the home, located at 108 Marlin Lane, Pikeville, N.C.

For a number of years, Jim worked in the service industry before discovering his true calling as a leader in manufacturing.

Jim's ambition and skills afforded him the opportunity to relocate to North Carolina, where he was truly appreciated as a plant manager at Anchor Coupling Inc. of Goldsboro.

Most recently, Jim was employed as a quality assurance specialist of AAR Corp. of Goldsboro.

Jim was an avid Chicago Bears fan and lover of all animals.

His competitive nature and intelligence led to many successes throughout his entire life. An incomplete crossword puzzle simply would not suffice. Very rarely was Jim outwitted when it came to word and board games.

In addition to his wife and parents, Jim is survived by a daughter, Jamie Temple and husband, Rob, of Davenport, Iowa; a stepdaughter, Angie Potts and husband, John, of Raleigh; a brother, Peter Robertson and wife, Jennifer, of Durand, Ill.; two sisters, Heather Robertson of Pittsfield, Ill., and Sharon Burtlow and husband, Dave, of Rock Falls, Ill.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Iain Robertson.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be directed to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534

Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Robertson family, and online condolences may be directed to www.shumate-faulk.com.
