ELMA RAE JACKSON STEVENS

Elma Rae Jackson Stevens, 82, died Monday morning at her home.

Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Eunice Jackson Cox, and had been married to the late James Bryant Talton and Luby Clark Stevens.

A special family visitation will be held at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

Elma was a retired seamstress and homemaker, who loved her cats.

Elma is survived by four daughters, Mary Talton and husband, Paul Dexter, Pearline Davis, Ethel Mae Raynor and husband, Barry, and Sherry Talton Gilbert and husband, Michael; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Kaye
Talton; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, James "Buddy" Everette
Talton; a daughter, Willa Mae T. Thornton; and a son-in-law, Harold Ray Davis.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be directed to Grantham Volunteer Fire Department, 3430 U.S. 13 South, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
