LESLIE "LES" CRAWFORD JR.

Leslie "Les" Crawford Jr. was the third of seven children born to the union of Leslie Crawford Sr. and Essie Crawford April 16, 1931, in Goldsboro.
He peacefully passed away June 2, 2016.
He was married to the late Jessie Marie Simmons-Crawford.
Les completed a 21-year military career, and retired from the United States Army.
Les had three sisters and four brothers, Nathaniel (deceased), Willie Lee (Walletta), James (deceased), Bertha (deceased), Wilma (Roy), David Lee (deceased) and Shirley.
He was the father of seven children, Lynwood, Larry "Tony," Sharon, Aaron (Doreen), Evonne, Julia (deceased) and Phyllis (Lonnie); devoted grandfather of six; and privileged great-grandfather of four.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Barnes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Rosewood. Burial will follow at Barnes Chapel Cemetery with full military honors.
The family will greet friends Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro and other times at the home of Willie and Walletta Crawford, 158 Rosewood Road.
