Robert Lyndon Jennette, 76, Goldsboro, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.

Robert was born in Wayne County Sept. 27, 1939, to the late Robert and Lucy Taylor Jennette.

He cherished his wife, and was a role model to his children and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 23, 2016, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with pastor Blane Smith and the Rev. Don Davis officiating. Interment will be Sunday, April 24, 2016, at 10 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park with full military honors.

The family will receive friends Saturday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.

Parker and husband, Fred of Clayton; sisters, Cleta McLendon of Burgaw and Naomi Cottle of Garner; four grandchildren, James Ryan Parker, Emily Taylor Parker, Joshua Davis Beard and Jessica Leigh Beard; and a great-grandchild, Charlize Monroe Corbett.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bromley S. Jennette and Buck T. Jennette, and sister, Carolyn J. Parks.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given to Cures for the Colors, 203 Cox Blvd., Goldsboro, N.C., 27534, or Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
