ALICE LUCRETIA SAULS CRAWFORD

Alice Lucretia Sauls Crawford, 75, Goldsboro, passed away peacefully April 10, 2016.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Neal Crawford Sr.; her parents, Wiley E. and Arville Y. Sauls; and sister, Ann S. Saunders.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 13, 2016, from 3 to 3:45 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 4 p.m. at Jefferson United Methodist Church, 1100 N. Jefferson Ave., Goldsboro.
She is survived by her children, Edward Neal Crawford Jr. and wife, Karen, of Norfolk, Va., and Lugene Crawford Bolton and husband, Al, of Louisburg, N.C.
She is also survived by the five joys of her life, her grandchildren, Kristin Crawford Beckner and husband, Lyle, of Norfolk, Va., Casey Allen Bolton of Louisburg, Crawford Brooks Bolton and wife, Audrey, of Wilson, N.C., Alexandra Nicole Crawford of Norfolk, Va., and Cooper Christopher Bolton of Louisburg, N.C.; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Dees and husband, Grover, of Smithfield, N.C., and Bess Crawford of Rome, Ga.; brother-in-law, Fred Saunders of Sebastian, Fla.; nieces, Lynn Williams of Benton, Ill., Susan Noll of Oak Creek, Wisc., and Rachel Hyde of Rome, Ga.; nephews, Thomas Dees of Smithfield, N.C., Brent Crawford of Rome, Ga., Acy Crawford of Annapolis, Md., and Cooper Crawford of Rome, Ga.; and her beloved dog, Precious.
Alice received her undergraduate and master's degrees from East Carolina University, and was always a proud Pirate.
She was a retired educator from the Wayne County Public School System.
Alice was a generous and loving person, who volunteered at Jefferson United Methodist Church, where she was a member, played competitive bridge and enjoyed watching her Pirates play.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
