SADIE B. MOYE
July 15, 1922-Feb. 23, 2016
Sadie Best Moye, 93, LaGrange, peacefully passed away in her home Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016.
Sadie was born July 15, 1922, in Wayne County to the late Gordon Best and Minnie Mozingo Best. She was the wife of the late Roland Emery Moye.
Sadie graduated from Carolina College June 19, 1944, with a degree in beauty culture.
She then operated Sadie's Beauty Shop in LaGrange for many years.
At the time of her death, Sadie was the oldest member of Garris Chapel United Methodist Church.
Fiercely independent, Sadie enjoyed working in her yard, tending to her flowers and helping others in need.
A service to celebrate and honor Sadie's life will be held Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, at 7 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Brad Mitchell officiating. A committal service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Sadie is survived by three nephews, Phil Hinson and wife, Vickie, Donnie Hinson and wife, Barbara, and Randy Hinson; five great-nieces, Kim, Kathy, Starr, Misty and Kelly; three great-nephews, Steve, Jamie and Corey; and the wife of her late nephew, Kathleen Hinson.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sadie was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Best Hinson; brother, Richard Best; and a nephew, Gene Hinson.
Sadie's family will receive friends Thursday following the service and at other times, the family will be at the home of Randy Hinson, 849 S. Beston Road, LaGrange.
