Edward Lee Edmundson, 77, Fremont, went to be with his Lord and savior Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The family will celebrate his homegoing and his 78th birthday Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont, with Dr. Don Sauls officiating. Burial will follow at Eureka Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Edmundson was a native of Wayne County, born Feb. 3, 1938, to the late William Henry and Rachel Dawson Edmundson.
He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Paul and husband, Joey, of Fremont and Linda Edmundson of Clayton; three brothers, Kenneth Edmundson of Goldsboro, Gene Edmundson and wife, Jenelle, of Warsaw and Oscar Edmundson and wife, Diane, of Florida; one sister, Doris Gurganus of Black Creek; two grandchildren, Shayne Paul and wife, Emily, and Franki Paul Sasser and husband, Justin; one great-grandchild, Fynleigh; sister-in-law, Pat Edmundson of Pikeville; and brother-in-law, Earl Mumford of Florida.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Edmundson was preceded in death by his wife, Dollie Loraine Edmundson; one brother, William Edmundson; two sisters, Marie Mumford and Elizabeth Baker; and his beloved pet, "Buddy."
The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.
