Elder Josephine M. Garris, 71, 380 Butler Ford Road, Vanceboro, died Friday at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Progressive Free Will Baptist Church in Greenville. Burial will be in Sandhill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery,
Visitation Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home, with the family present 6 to 8, at Burning Bush United Holy Church in Vanceboro. At other times, the family will receive friends at 1906 Hampton Road, Kinston, where it will assemble for funeral procession
