JOYCE ARMSTRONG SUTTON

Joyce Armstrong Sutton, age 84, of Faison, died Sunday at Kitty Askins Hospice in Goldsboro.
Joyce was born, reared and lived her entire life in Faison before being injured in a fall at home about a week prior to her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Dorothy Armstrong; her sister, Edith Bragg; and her husband, Leon, who died just three months earlier.
She is survived by her sons, David Sutton of Faison and Mark Sutton of Sampson County, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was a stay-at-home mom after her sons were born and later worked as a secretary with the Duplin County Schools before retiring over 20 years ago.
She enjoyed many years of reading and working crossword puzzles during retirement.
She also enjoyed preparing, cooking and eating many vegetables that her husband, Leon, grew in their garden next to their home in Faison for their entire married life.
Joyce will be cremated and a private service will be held at a later date.
The family requests no flowers or no memorial donations be made.
