JAMES EDGAR NEWCOMB

James Edgar Newcomb, 74, Goldsboro, passed away Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
James was born in Wayne County Nov. 26, 1940, to the late George and Sadie Pelt Newcomb.
He retired from maintenance with Wayne County Public Schools.
James had a wonderful sense of humor, and never took himself too seriously.
He was a good friend and a great father, and had a generous heart. He provided a wonderful home for his family, and gave all he could to his family and strangers alike.
A service celebrating James' life will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, 2015, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Harold T. Anderson officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at Seymour Funeral Home.
Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, at the Pikeville Cemetery.
James is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ann Lancaster Newcomb; son, Jimmy Newcomb of Goldsboro; sisters, Connie Newcomb and Joyce Newcomb of Dudley; and brother, George Newcomb of Dudley.
