John H. Whitfield, 71, St. Albans, N.Y., formerly of Wayne County, died Friday in Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, N.Y.
Funeral will be Tuesday at noon at Jerusalem Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will be in Jerusalem Church Cemetery with military honors.
He was born Sept. 11, 1943, in Wayne County to the late Henry and Beatrice Wooten Whitfield.
He is survived by three children.
Visitation Monday from 3 to 7 p.m., with the family present 6 to 7, at Haskins Funeral Home. At other times, the family will receive friends at 105 Colby Drive, Dudley, where it will assemble for the funeral procession.
