The Rev. James Edward King, 75, 1221 North Drive, Goldsboro, passed Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at home surrounded by his loving family.
The celebration of his life will be held Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, at noon at Bear Creek Headquarters, 1800 S. Slocumb St., Goldsboro, with the Rev. Charles Franklin officiating. He will be laid to rest in Atkinson Chapel Church Cemetery in Goldsboro, N.C.
There will be a viewing held Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, from 1 to 5 p.m. at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations. The family will be receiving friends at Atkinson Chapel Church, 634 S. Oak Forest Road, Goldsboro, N.C., from 6 to 7 p.m.
He was born Dec. 28, 1939, in Wayne County, N.C., to James Henry King and Mary Elizabeth Bailey King.
He is survived by his loving wife, Doris Sykes King of the home, and three children, Teresa King and Anthony King both of Goldsboro, N.C. and Felicia (Harvey) King Smith of Dudley, N.C.
