Lloyd Steven "Steve" Mitchell, 59, Goldsboro, went to be with his Lord Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015.
Steve was born July 8, 1956, in Wayne County to Jean Lupton Mitchell and the late Lloyd Billy Mitchell.
Steve retired from J and L Fabrics.
He was most appreciative of the heart he received 20 years ago, allowing him to enjoy life to the fullest.
Steve was a member of Wesleyan Pentecostal Church in Washington.
A service to celebrate and honor Steve's life will be held Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, at 2 p.m. from Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dan Woods officiating. Interment will follow at Willow Dale Cemetery.
In addition to his mother, Steve is survived by three sisters, Beth Daniels, Terri Mitchell and Cheryl Taylor and husband, Junior; daughter, Michelle; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Steve is also survived by his special canine companion, "Daphaney," along with a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday following the graveside committal service.
