HAROLD WORRELL

Joseph Harold Worrell Sr., 89, Goldsboro, passed away peacefully Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, at his home.
Harold was born in Greene County May 5, 1926, to the late Kirby and Pearl Turner Worrell.
He was a hard-working man, which was the theme of his life; he lived to work.
Harold was the kind of man who was loyal to his family, who took great pride in caring and providing for them.
He retired from Civil Service at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.
Harold and his wife also delivered newspapers for the News and Observer and the Goldsboro News-Argus for 25 years.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service to celebrate his life at 3 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Cory Jackson and the Rev. Bill Rose officiating. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Harold is survived by his wife of 65 years, Irene Odom Worrell; children, Joe Worrell Jr. and wife, Debra, Steve Worrell and wife, Karen, and Teresa Kohnen and husband, David; grandchildren, Jason Worrell and wife, Maya, Nancy Flinn and husband, Sean, Kimberly Worrell, Stephanie Worrell, Tyler Worrell, Brandon Kohnen and wife, Anna, Heath Kohnen and wife, Tessa, and Morgan Kohnen; and great-grandchildren, Kyla Flinn, Judd Kohnen and Kitt Kohnen.
He is also survived by his sisters, Elizabeth Edmundson and Pearl Holloman; brother, Lawrence Worrell; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Joseph Lawrence Worrell, and 12 brothers and sisters.
