Mary Ward Herring, 88, Warsaw, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Mary Gran Nursing Home in Clinton, N.C.
Mrs. Herring was born Aug. 29, 1926, in Wilson County, N.C., to the late Richard Ward and Maggie Lewis Ward.
Mrs. Herring was a faithful member of Liberty Pentecostal Assembly.
Visitation will be held 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Community Funeral Home of Warsaw Inc.
A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in Community Funeral Home chapel. Burial will conclude the service in Pinecrest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at other times at the home of Jerry Ezzell.
Mrs. Herring is survived by daughter, Marlene Oliver and husband, William, of Turkey; brother, Jerry Ward of Calypso; son-in-law, Jerry Ezzell of Warsaw; and daughters-in-law, Connie Herring of Warsaw and Becky Ward of Turkey.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Laura Eason, Tracy Johnson, Samantha Carter, Karen Ward, Charles Ward, Chris Ward, Mark Ward, Jennifer McDonald and Jerry Wayne Ezzell Jr.; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Herring was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Marvin Herring; sons, Albert Wayne Herring and Kenneth Ward; daughter, Mary Ezzell; brother, Frank Ward; and sisters, Eunice Sanderson, Bernice Wilson, Lois Jordan, Julia Wilson and Ruth Alphin.
