EMMA LEE STALLINGS

April 14, 1921-March 26, 2015

Emma Lee Ginn Stallings finished her course in faith on March 26, 2015, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro, Ga. She was a resident of the Greenpoint Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Union Point, Ga., since 2010.

Previous to that time, she was a lifetime resident of Goldsboro.

She was born in Goldsboro, N.C., to Clarance and Hattie Mae Pilkington Ginn on April 14, 1921. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, J. B. Stallings; her son, Durwood B. Stallings; brother, Loyd Ginn; and sister, Virginia.

She is survived by her son, James K. Stallings (Donna); grandchildren, Teresa Stallings Watts (Andy), Alan James Stallings, Joshua James Stallings (April); and great-grandchildren, Jeremy Watts (Lisa), Gerald Watts and Mason James Stallings; and great-great-grandson, Joshua Will Watts. She is survived by many precious friends and her former daughter-in-law, Shirley Stallings.

In her younger years, she worked in the hospitality industry and in her later life she served her Heavenly Father by ministering in nursing homes and her church, Victory Free Will Baptist Church. She never turned away anyone in need and sacrificed to provide for those less fortunate. She was an avid gardener and loved fishing. She made her husband and sons cry as she reeled in the large catch with a big grin on her face.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Rev. Fred Crank, his wife, Joy, Eloise Burke, Bea Ella Davis, Donna Strickland and Brenda Hardison for their welcomed visits to Georgia to share their faith and love with our family and especially with our mother, Emma. We also thank her cousin, Mahala Wiggins, for her regular calls of love and encouragement.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 31, at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Seymour Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials to the Victory Free Will Baptist Church will be appreciated.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
