TOMMY MCPHAIL

Sept. 12, 1954-March 21, 2015

James Thomas "Tommy" McPhail, 60, Goldsboro, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.

Tommy was born in Wayne County on Sept. 12, 1954, to Theria Waller McPhail, of Goldsboro, and the late James C. McPhail.

He was a graduate of Goldsboro High School and later attended and graduated from the Rhode Island School of Photography.

Tommy proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He was most comfortable outdoors at the beach or on the water.

A service celebrating Tommy's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at St. Paul United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Harry and the Rev. Phyllis Vail officiating.

The family will greet friends following the service in the narthex at the church.

In addition to his mother, Tommy is survived by his sister, Janice McPhail Moon and husband, William A. Moon, of Goldsboro; and a special friend, Sherry Hamman.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 204 E. Chestnut St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530 or to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
