Jesse Willard "Jay" Talton Jr. went to be with Jesus, his parents, grandparents and family Tuesday after a two-year battle with cancer.
Jay was the son of the late Jesse Willard Talton and Dorothy Davis Talton.
He attended Goldsboro Senior High School, and made Goldsboro his home all of his life.
In recent years, he was self-employed as a contractor in the community.
Jay will forever be remembered by his daughter, Wenona Talton, and granddaughter, Reagan Williams of Pikeville, and his two sons, Joe Talton and Brandon Talton both of Goldsboro.
He is also survived by his sister, Susan Sedlock and her husband, Walt Sedlock, and family of Greensburg, Pa.
Funeral services for Jay will be held Friday evening at 7 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, followed by a time of visitation and remembrance.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
At other times, the family will be at the home of Letha Head.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Medical Foundation, Leo Jenkins Cancer Center, Attn: Allison Clary, 600 Moye Blvd., Greenville, N.C., 27834.
