GARRETT KEITH OSTHEIM

Feb. 6, 1987-Jan. 12, 2015

Garrett Keith Ostheim, 27, suddenly passed away the morning of Jan. 12, while vacationing with his family at Disney World.

Garrett will be remembered for his love of life, enthusiasm for recreational activities and unconditional love for his family.

He lived a full and exciting life with his loving wife of almost four years, Crystal Prince Ostheim, and their precious 19-month-old daughter, Aubrey, both of whom he loved with all his heart and fully devoted himself to. Their family life consisted of adventure and travel, with Disney World being a favorite, as well as spending numerous hours at the beach with family and friends fishing, boating and making countless memories.

Garrett never met a stranger, striking up conversation with anyone he met and spreading his contagious laughter.

He was sensitive to the needs of others, possessing a big heart easily touched by those less fortunate. This quality extended to animals, as Garrett was a champion advocate of pit bulls, believing them to be loving and caring if given a good home.

He was also a strong believer in God, and spoke openly of his faith, often responding to problems with "I'm praying about it."

He was known for his entrepreneurial spirit, owning and operating Buffworkz Mobile Detailing, a business that often busied him during summers.

He was currently employed at R.A. Jeffrey's Distributing as a truck driver.

In addition to his loving wife, Crystal, and daughter, Aubrey, Garrett is survived by his parents, Mark and Phillis Ostheim and Butch and Denise Prince; sisters, Christel Mozingo and husband, Graham, Amber Ostheim and fiancé, Jason Talton, and Taylor Prince and boyfriend, Andrew Sawyer; niece, Brianna Mozingo; maternal grandmother, Peggy Roberts Quinn; as well as numerous family, friends and coworkers.

Preceding him in death were grandparents, A.D. Quinn, Robert George and Mary Jane Ostheim.

Visitation will be held at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Saturday, Jan. 17, from 5 to 8 p.m., with services held at First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Goldsboro Sunday, Jan. 18, at 2 p.m. followed by a private burial.

In addition to flowers, college fund donations may be made to North Carolina 529 Plan at College Foundation of North Carolina, P.O. Box 40877, Raleigh, N.C., 27629-0877, with "Aubrey Ostheim" or account No. 538522276-002 in the memo line.

Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home is serving the Ostheim family, and online condolences may be sent through www.shumate-faulk.com.
