MOUNT OLIVE -- Bobbie Lee Williams, 78, died Friday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Her family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home on Monday from 7 until 9 p.m., and at other times at the Nick Lee residence, 1694 Red Hill Road, Mount Olive. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m., by the graveside in the Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive, with the Rev. Paul Rose officiating.
Bobbie was a native of Mount Olive but had spent much of her married life in Virginia. She had been a jewelry department manager with the AAFES-Army and Air Force Exchange Services in Virginia. After her husband's death and upon her retirement, she returned to Mount Olive and became a member of Faison Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Mount Olive Historical Society and had served as its president, and was on the reunion committee for the Mount Olive High School class of 1953.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Thomas of Mount Olive and Julie Dill and husband, Steve, of Newport News, Va.; three grandchildren, Ashley Aanenson and husband, Frank, Morgan Shine and husband, Will, and Steven Dill II and wife, Sarah; three great-grandchildren, Kyra and Logan Aanenson, and Liam Shine; three brothers, Rodney Lee and wife, Sally of Kinston, Nick Lee and wife, Sandra of Mount Olive, and Chris Lee and wife, Media of Mount Olive; two sisters, Diana L. Davis of Clayton, and Betsy L. Hearn and husband, Jim, of Rocky Mount; a brother-in-law, D.F. Barton Jr. of Albertson; two lifelong friends, Earline Strickland and Marie Malpass; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby R. Williams; her parents, Lloyd C. and Eva Brown Lee; and a sister, Anita L. Barton.
