CECIL W. SMALL

Cecil Wayne "Jim" Small, 77, Goldsboro, passed away peacefully Wednesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

Cecil was born in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Thomas and Molly Small.

He served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957.

After leaving the service, he worked at the shipyard in Newport News, Va., but moved to Goldsboro in 1974 to take a job with Westinghouse.

A memorial service will be held Sunday at Brogden United Methodist Church at 3 p.m., with Mr. Joseph Morgan officiating.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Evelyn Small; a son, Jim Small and wife, Betsy, of Newport News, Va.; a daughter, Barbara Pierce and husband, Jeff, of Princeton; five grandchildren, Virginia Juarez, William Small, Amanda Small, Chad Pierce and Wesley Pierce; and two great-grandchildren, Savannah and Lilly Juarez.
