HENRY CURTIS RUSHTON JR.

Henry Curtis Rushton, Jr., 81, Goldsboro, passed away suddenly Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Henry was born in Saluda, S.C., Sept. 2, 1933, to the late Henry Curtis Rushton Sr. and Mattie Dora Freeland Rushton.
He proudly served our country in the United States Navy and the United States Air Force, retiring after 20 years of service.
Following his military career, Henry worked with Celotex, and retired after 23 years of service.
More than anything else, Henry had been devoted to his wife. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and never took himself too seriously. He was a good friend and a great father, and had a generous heart. He provided a wonderful home for his family, and gave all he could to his family and strangers alike.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service celebrating Henry's life at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Entombment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Henry is survived by his wife of 62 years, Turner McLean Rushton; son, Ricky Evans Rushton of Goldsboro; sister, Lois Berry of Saluda, S.C.; and brother, Ray Leonard Rushton of Roanoke, Va.
He is also survived by his grandson, Jesse Rushton of Calabash; granddaughter, Kalie Rushton of Spokane, Wash.; great-grandchild, Fisher Rushton; and two stepgrandchildren, Braden Cassey and Teagen Cassey.
Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Adamsville Baptist Church, 1302 N. Berkeley Blvd., Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
