SHIRLEY LANCASTER CORBETT

Shirley Lancaster Corbett, 78, Pikeville, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley was born in Wayne County May 25, 1936, to the late Paul and Lillian Killette Lancaster. She was married to the late Carl Franklin Corbett.
Shirley had worked for many years as a waitress at the Steak Barn, as well as a waitress at her daughter's restaurant, Paulette's Kitchen.
She was a member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church.
Although Shirley leaves a vacant place in our hearts, we know she truly earned her special place in heaven. Shirley will always be remembered as a loyal woman of faith, love and respect for everyone who touched her life. The best of Shirley will live on in each of us.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2014, at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bob Clark and the Rev. Scott Ezzell officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Paulette Medlin and husband, Charles, of Pikeville; son, Frankie Corbett and wife, Charlette, of Pikeville; grandchildren, Michelle Barnes and husband, Mike, Joy Glover and husband, Brian, Chuck Medlin and wife, Holly, and Matthew Corbett; four great-grandchildren, Bradley Glover, Taylor Glover, Austin Barnes and Daniel Barnes; and four stepgrandchildren, Chrystal Combs, Robert Batts, Kelly Theriac and Matthew Lutze.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given in Shirley's memory to Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 10, Pikeville, N.C., 27863.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home.
