MARION SMITH

Marion Smith, 82, 3607 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, passed away peacefully Wednesday in Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro.
He was born Dec. 10, 1931, to Earl Smith Sr. and Mildred Best Smith in Wayne County.
His life and service to God and mankind will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Church of Christ, with Bishop Alton A. Smith officiating. Burial will follow with military honors in Wayne Memorial Park.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Martha Weathington Smith of the home; children Thomas Smith, Sharon Wallace, Gail Johnson of Goldsboro and Patricia Smith of Morrisville; stepson, Wendell Rodger and wife, Theresa; three sisters; and two brothers.
Visitation Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Haskins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the church. At other times, the family will receive at the residence, where it will assemble in preparation for the funeral procession. www.haskinsfh.com.
