William Rufus "Cootie" Sessoms, 67, resident of Faison, died Friday night, April 11, at the home of his daughter.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, at Piney Grove Church Cemetery, North McCullen Road, Faison.
Visitation will be Monday, April 14, 6-8 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive. At other times, the family will be receiving at the home of Janice Sessoms, 1497 N.C. Highway 403 West, Mount Olive.
Cootie, a retired employee of General Electric, had served in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by a daughter, April Nicole Sessoms; and his parents, Fleet Roosevelt Sessoms and Lizzie Thornton Sessoms.
He is survived by a daughter, Nickie S. Bray and husband, Bob Bray; two grandchildren, Heather and Jacob Bray, all of Wilmington; his best friend, Janice Sessoms of Mount Olive; two brothers, J.D. Sessoms and wife, Rose, and Gordon Sessoms and wife, Glenda, all of Faison.
