LAROY BARNES

Laroy Barnes, 77, 1393 Tommy's Road, Goldsboro, succumbed to the silent chambers of death Saturday in Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
He was born Dec. 9, 1936, to Royal and Ada Whitley Barnes in Wayne County.
His life and service to God and mankind will be celebrated Saturday at noon at Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Joe Jackson officiating. His mortal frame will be laid to rest in Wayne Memorial Park.
Beautiful memories are cherished by his loving wife, Ethelene Best Barnes of the home; children, Lee Doris Palmer of Baltimore, Md., Maxine Battle and Vickie Barnes-Mobley of Goldsboro; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
