MARGARET ANN ZILLS
Died March 11, 2014
Margaret Ann Zills, 78, passed peacefully into our savior's arms in the late afternoon of March 11, 2014, in the presence of her family after a long illness.
Margaret was born in Boston, England, in 1935, and moved to the United States upon marrying retired Senior Master Sgt. James L. Zills of Hatton, Ala., in 1956.
Margaret was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who loved to laugh, and delighted her friends and family with her knowledge of classic movies and the actresses and actors who played in them.
Margaret was a child survivor of World War II, and loved her country both England and the USA.
She was a 30-year veteran wife, and had four children and grandchildren, who are veterans of the war on terrorism.
Besides the birth of her four children, her proudest moment was when she took the Oath of Allegiance and became a United States citizen.
Margaret worked at, and retired from, Busman Fuse factory after 20 years in 2002.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lillian Balls; three brothers; and two sisters of Kings Lynn, England.
She is survived by her husband, James L. Zills of Goldsboro, N.C., and four children, James A Zills of Rock Hill, S.C., Linda A Hines of Mesa, Ariz., Robert G. Zills of Crestview, Fla., and Jeff L. Zills of Albuquerque, N.M. She has 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Howell's Funeral Home Friday the 14th of March at 7 p.m.
The family respectfully requests that, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Margaret A. Zills' name to Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, N.C.
