DUDLEY -- Evon Bryant, 77, 3985 U.S. 117 Alternate, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Payne Temple AME Zion Church in Mount Olive. Burial with military honors will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Sandhills Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
He was born Dec. 31, 1935, to Howard and Ruth King Bryant in Wayne County. He was married to Barbara Hill Bryant.
He is survived by four children.
Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 7:30 p.m., with the family present from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Haskins Funeral Home. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, where it will assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
