PITTSBORO -- Rebecca Sue Perry Strunk, 77, passed away peacefully in her sleep in Pittsboro, N.C., Sept. 30, 2013.
A celebration of her life will be held with family, friends and caregivers at Laurels of Chatham Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at 2 p.m.
The family greatly appreciates the expertise and care of Hall-Wynne Funeral Home in assisting with arrangements.
Sue was born to Finis and Dorothy Perry in Tennessee Oct. 26, 1935. She lived in Crossville, Tenn., until she graduated from Homestead High School in the class of 1953, after which she traveled the United States, living in various cities and working in the medical profession.
Sue loved all animals, especially cats, and was renowned for her marvelous gardens. She loved to travel and meet new people, but mostly to spend time with her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Finis and Dorothy; two brothers, Buddy and Jimmy; and a sister, Druceil Henry.
Sue is survived by her sister, Debbie (Jackie) Buckner of Crossville; brothers, Bill (Peggy) Perry and Tony (Sarah) Perry of Crossville; a daughter, Gigi (Mike) Davidson of Pittsboro, N.C.; a granddaughter, Alsey Glenn Davidson of Chapel Hill, N.C.; and countless nieces, nephews and cousins all over the United States.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Sue may be made to Laurels of Chatham to the attention of the staff appreciation fund.
The family wishes to extend its gratitude to the loving staff of Laurels of Chatham and Evercare for its eight years of dedicated and expert care of Sue in her final years.
