THOMAS K. PIGFORD

Thomas Kassuth Pigford, 82, of the Grantham community passed away Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Calypso to the late Hicks and Helen Pigford, and was the husband of Rita Pigford.
Mr. Pigford was a United States Navy veteran and a retired machinist with PSE&G of New Jersey.
He was a member of Falling Creek United Methodist Church. He also served as a special police officer in New Jersey, and enjoyed playing canasta, watching NASCAR and helping others.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at Falling Creek United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Greg Moser officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Pigford is survived by a daughter, Gail Policastro of New Jersey; three sons, Thomas K. Pigford Jr. and wife, Vicky, of Dudley, N.C., Robert Maniscalco of Goldsboro and Gerald Pigford and wife, Nancy of Chesapeake, Va.; a sister, Adele Baker of Calypso, N.C., eight grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
