Nancy Sasser Thompson, 87, passed away Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Nancy was born in Wayne County June 26, 1926, to the late Temple and Lettie Parnell Sasser.
She retired from Sylvania, and was a member of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, with the Rev. Bill Rose officiating.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Lee Vander Thompson Sr.; children, Carol Daniels of Goldsboro, Frances Jernigan Ward and husband, Ricky, of Pikeville, Jerri Jernigan Cooper and husband, Pete, of Brandon, Fla., Jean Jernigan Hines and husband, Jay, of Leland, Lee Vander Thompson Jr. and wife, Rebecca, of Tennessee and Charlotte Bass and husband, Robert, of Charlotte; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchild.
