PRICETOWN -- Audrey Tyndall Smith, 85, passed away late Thursday afternoon, July 25, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.

A service to remember her and her life will be held Saturday, July 27, at 10 a.m. by the graveside at Pineview Cemetery, Seven Springs, and will be officiated by the Rev. Doug Johnson and Jimmy Vinson.

Her family will be receiving friends and relatives at her residence at 541 Billy Price Road, Seven Springs.

Mrs. Smith, a native of Lenoir County, met and married Chester W. Smith, and became a "Pricetown girl," and was a member of Zion United Methodist Church.

Known for her kind, loving and gentle spirit, she was the ultimate wife, mama and grandma, with her family and those she loved being her top priority.

While she had worked in several public situations, she was content on the family farm being a homemaker and caring for her family, while assisting her husband with poultry and crop farming.

Her family includes a daughter and son-in-law, Jo and Shelton Southerland and Smith and Vanessa Southerland all of Pricetown; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Sutton Smith of Pricetown; four granddaughters and husbands, Jerry and Sheri Stroud and their children, Maci and Reed, of Seven Springs, Greg and Brandy Rouse and their son, Quinton, of Seven Springs, Russ and Kristy Brock and their son, Eli, of Mount Olive and Jeremy and Holly Williams and their children, Holden and Reagan, of Mount Olive; and many other friends and kin, including three special cousins, Janet Walston of Goldsboro, Delbert and Laverne Rhodes of Fayetteville and Danny and Faye Rhodes of Goldsboro.

Those preceding her in death, and now, she reunites with, are her husband, Chester W. Smith; a daughter, Vanessa Smith; a son, C. W. Smith Jr.; a grandson, Doug Southerland; and her parents, Ruby Olee Tyndall and Josephine Kornegay Tyndall.

The family welcomes floral tributes as well as memorial gifts to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
