NANCY G. WILLIAMSON
Sept. 29, 1936-June 18, 2013
EMERALD ISLE -- Nancy Greggains Williamson, 76, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Carolina House in Morehead City.
Nancy was born in Rome, N.Y., Sept. 29, 1936, to the late William R. Greggains and Olwen Jones Greggains. She was married to the late Luke Andrew Williamson Jr.
Nancy retired from civil service, having worked at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro and at Cherry Point.
She always enjoyed giving back to her community, having been involved in scouting and with Paws of Carteret, which is a pet adoption and welfare society.
Nancy will be remembered by many for her love of life and its varied possibilities. She spent many of her healthy years helping people and animals in need, often sacrificing her own needs so that others could live better. There are many cherished animals that were given homes because of her care and concern for their welfare.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Willow Dale Cemetery in Goldsboro, with the Rev. Billy Toler officiating.
The family will greet friends immediately following the service.
Nancy is survived by her devoted son, Scott Williamson and Angy Riggan of Emerald Isle, and her brother, Robert Greggains and wife, Doris, of Florida.
In addition to her husband and parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her sisters, Beverly Lee and Joyce Colwell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her memory to Paws of Carteret, 5042 Mattie St., Morehead City, N.C., 28557.
Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
