WILLARD L. STONE

Jan. 28, 1923-March 13, 2013

Willard Lee Stone, 90, formerly of Oak Ridge Drive, Dudley, passed away Wednesday at Dunn Health and Rehab.

He was the son of the late Gaither and Maggie Stone, and was married to Edna M. Stone for 22 years.

He proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army.

A funeral service will be held Friday evening at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends immediately following the services and at other times at 161 Lee Denning Lane in Mount Olive.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Stone is survived by a stepson, Joseph R. Wooten and wife, Arlean, of Westport, Va.; two stepdaughters, Sandra Montaya and husband, Elisho, of Mount Olive and Shelia Mozingo and husband, Jerry, of Dudley; a sister, Oradel Saxton of Bristol, Va.; two brothers, Wade and Fuller Stone of Virginia; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren,

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Glennie Stone; stepson, Edward Lee Wooten Sr.; grandson; Gordon Wooten; three brothers, Joseph, John and Fred Stone; and a sister, Mary Trip.
