EDNA R. COBB
Died Feb. 13, 2013
MOUNT OLIVE -- Edna Reaves Cobb, longtime Mount Olive resident, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 13, at Genesis Health Care.
Services to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Mount Olive Presbyterian Church, where she was a longtime, loyal member. The Rev. Steven Wicks will officiate. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
Mrs. Cobb is survived by her children, Beverly Cobb Clifton and husband, Tim, of Turkey, Dickson Wright Cobb and wife, Carolyn, of Raleigh and Billie Carole Cobb Grady and husband, Jerry, of Mount Olive; grandchildren, Geoffrey Merritt and wife, Jennifer, David Merritt and wife, Amanda, Kelly Paul Grady and wife, Dominique, Dustin Grady, Hayley Grady, Anna C. Cobb and John Dickson Cobb; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nell Harrell of Goldsboro.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayland W. "Billy" Cobb; her parents, George and Katie Lafferty Reaves; and several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Cobb and her late husband were operators of the Army Surplus Store, which was located in downtown Mount Olive.
The family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home between 6 and 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, and at other times at Mrs. Cobb's former residence.
