MOUNT OLIVE -- Eunice Ward Kornegay, 87, of Garner's Chapel Road, died early Thursday morning, Jan. 10, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The Kornegay family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home on Monday, Jan. 14, from 2 until 3:15 p.m., at which time they will proceed to Maplewood Cemetery for a 3:30 p.m. graveside service. Officiating will be the Rev. J. Paul Rose. Family and friends are being received at the Jerry Kornegay residence, 748 Garner's Chapel Road, Mount Olive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Eric Kornegay; her father, William Henry Ward; her mother, Effie Kornegay Ward Jackson; stepfather, Jonah Jackson; and two brothers, Norman Ray Ward and William Henry Ward Jr.
Her surviving family members include four children and spouses, Jimmy and Linda Kornegay of Mount Olive, Joe Kornegay of Wendell, Marcia K. and Keith Kearney of Cedar Point, and Jerry and Angie Kornegay of Mount Olive; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lewellyn Carmichael and husband, Doug, of Oriental, and Fannie Ruth Baker of Oklahoma.
